Power Options

  • Shore Power (120V): Plugged into external power source, powers most appliances.

  • Converter: Converts 120V AC to 12V DC to charge batteries and power 12V appliances.

  • Inverter: Converts 12V DC from batteries to 120V AC to run appliances without shore power.

  • Solar: Charges batteries using sunlight, ideal for off-grid camping.

Appliances

  • LP (Propane) Appliances: Used for refrigerators, stoves, water heaters. Efficient but requires refilling.

  • 120V Electrical Appliances: Includes air conditioners, microwaves, electric fireplaces. Requires shore power or generator.

  • Lighting: Switch to LED for energy efficiency.

  • Awning: Manual or electric (12V), consider ease of setup and wind protection.

Battery Types

  • Lead Acid: Commonly found in RVs, affordable but requires maintenance.

  • AGM: Absorbed Glass Mat batteries, maintenance-free but more expensive.

  • Lithium-Ion: Longer lifespan, faster charging, less maintenance, recommended for RVs.

Solar Charging

  • Solar panels can be mounted on the roof or portable.

  • Works in conjunction with lithium batteries, provides renewable energy source for off-grid camping.

  • Consider professional installation for optimal performance.
